Meetings, chats and emails multiply, but at the end of the month, familiar symptoms reappear: decisions that are not recorded, competing priorities, rework due to misunderstandings and teams that feel they \u201cran\u201d without moving forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The underlying problem is not a lack of communication. It is <strong>signal overshoot without management infrastructure<\/strong>The main elements of this are: verifiable agreements, recorded decisions, clear criteria, and a system that reduces friction rather than producing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Global data help to gauge why this is no longer a \u201csoft\u201d issue. Gallup, in its <em>State of the Global Workplace 2025<\/em>, reports a global engagement of <strong>21%<\/strong> and estimates a cost of <strong>US$ 438 billion<\/strong> in lost productivity in 2024. Microsoft, for its part, described the \u201cinfinite workday\u201d: in the group with the highest volume of \u201cpings\u201d, people receive interruptions <strong>every two minutes<\/strong>, to <strong>275 per day<\/strong>, between meetings, emails and chats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other words: <strong>day-to-day management - deciding, recording and following up - became the new bottleneck.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The repeating global scene<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>A regional team operates in three time zones. To \u201calign\u201d, it adds meetings. To \u201cnot miss anything\u201d, it opens threads. To \u201ckeep track\u201d, it sends emails. The end of the month arrives and the project is still stuck: there is partial progress, friction, wear and tear, and an uncomfortable question: <em>What was really decided and who is responsible for upholding it?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In almost all cases, the diagnosis is similar: there is no <strong>route of the agreement<\/strong> within the management system:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>where it is decided,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>where it is registered,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>who validates,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>how it is versioned,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and how it becomes verifiable (responsible, date, success criteria).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>When such infrastructure is not designed, the organisation pays three times over: <strong>time<\/strong> (rework), <strong>weather<\/strong> (tension) and <strong>trust<\/strong> (feeling of arbitrariness). And pay a fourth, silent one: <strong>latency<\/strong>. Decisions take longer to turn into action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Culture and wellbeing: impact is not incidental<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>In business we tend to separate productivity from culture, or culture from well-being. But in practice they are connected by a common variable: <strong>coordination burden<\/strong>. When the system is not designed, people spend energy on \u201cmaking the system work\u201d: clarifying, chasing answers, reworking, interpreting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The point 2026 is that culture does not deteriorate because of a lack of values, but rather because of a lack of <strong>management conditions<\/strong> to sustain them. And inclusion, where it exists, is tested at the operational level: accessibility of information, rules of participation and real mechanisms for reasonable accommodation. Deloitte reported that, among people requesting work-related adjustments, the <strong>74%<\/strong> had at least one application rejected and the <strong>19% <\/strong>were all rejected.
